Visitors' book

FROM THIERRY COCHE, NAMUR, BELGIUM, JULY 2013
We had a wonderful stay. Mike was very helpful and we appreciated all the information he offered. The house was perfect and the Marche Regions we visited were marvellous. Quite a difference from the other parts of Italy we have visited. We visited both the Northern and Southern Sibillini Monutains and were nicely surprised by the diversity of the landscapes. We also found the local people very welcoming and not denatured by excessive exposure to tourists.

FROM ANNE BRASSIER, LONDON, JULY 2011
We just returned from a family holiday at Il Melo and had a brilliant time. The house itself is lovely & finished to a very high standard inside – the beds are comfortable, showers are good and the kitchen is amazingly well equipped, for foodies. We were a varied group of young & old, active & inactive – from 2 years old to 78, and all were well catered for at Il Melo. There is plenty of shade around the pool for lounge lovers and the pool itself is partly shaded in the afternoon. We enjoyed the great selection of films to watch in the TV room when needing to escape the heat. And all kids enjoyed the various games & toys available –didn't bring anything for any of them, there's lots here. The house is definitely away from it all, but there are tons of really nice towns & villages nearby to explore by car; that's why I'd recommend a two week stay, so you can do one day by the pool, one day visiting! You won't regret it. The advantage of the remoteness is you are not overlooked by anyone and can hear nothing but critters and the breeze; if privacy is important, this place is perfect.Little details like not having to bring bedding & towels are great, especially when the stuff provided is such good quality. Plus the owners are very easy to communicate with and answered all my questions. All in all, I would 100% recommend booking this villa.

Top tips for toddlers:

  • Penna and Monte San Martino both have great parksCoal (supermarket) gives out free chocolate eggs to cute English kids
  • a bucket and watering can down to the river every day if possible, and look to elephants, tigers and (real) foxes
  • take your mum and dad to Sarnano for pizza at lunchtime (market on Thursday)
  • take mum and dad to Antico Gusto for great food and brilliant playground (but book in advance especially at weekends)
  • sleep, and let your mum and dad relax.....

Thanks for a lovely fortnight: great house, perfect secluded surroundings and we actually feel relaxed despite bringing for children under the age of three.

FROM THE VAN ZADELHOFF FAMILY DRIEBERGEN, NETHERLANDS, JULY 2010
Thank you so much for a wonderful week in Il Melo.

The house was absolutely fabulous! The bathrooms were indeed five-star! Outside dining, perfect swimming pool, all you always wanted to have in the kitchen. Even our tall, giant friend had great nights’ sleep in the spacious bedrooms. The Marche is beautiful even more than we expected. Food is delicious.

So, everything was right! We will recommend Il Melo to all our friends. Thank you again!

FROM CLAIRE MORONEY, TORONTO, CANADA - JULY 2010
We had a great week at Il Melo! It really is a lovely place. The house is so beautiful and we all loved having our own bathrooms! The pool got a lot of use from everyone, especially with the heat wave! We also all enjoyed cooking in your kitchen - what a great space! The kids (and adults) loved all of the books, videos and games in the house. You have thought of everything that one would need for a week in the country.
