Afternoon tea

Chris’s last day as we have to take her to Rimini tomorrow to fly home to work. We’ll follow in the car later but by the time we get home she’ll be in Malaysia for a geotourism conference. (Oh, by the way, the sun is still shining.)

In the afternoon I get a text from Holland – another week’s booking confirmed. We’re now booked solid from the last week in July till the end of August; and this is the first one to come direct through our new website which is a good payback for the work that went into it. Then it’s off to Pauline at La Mela Rosa for afternoon tea. She really is a great cook: scones (discussion on whether it’s pronounced sconn or scoen) with cream and strawberry jam, fantastic carrot cake and Anzac biscuits (like flapjacks but thinner and chewier.) We also have a tour of the place which is beautifully restored and furnished – we can’t believe they have a French wardrobe they bought in England, took to Australia and have now installed in Italy. I’d say it was better travelled than 95% of marchegiani.

After dinner we all play Pictionary – not easy with a 9 year old for a partner (well that’s my excuse anyway.)
